Hank Bellomy

Minister

Rev. Hank Bellomy was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Rick and Pam Bellomy. He has two siblings, a brother, Joe, and a sister, Stephanie. A 2000 graduate of Fayetteville Christian School, Hank went on to attend Virginia Intermont College, where he was a two-sport student-athlete in soccer and baseball. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 2004.

Following college, Hank returned to Fayetteville Christian School to serve as a teacher and coach. In 2007, he began his ministry as Youth Director at MacPherson Presbyterian Church, where he served faithfully until 2015. While serving in this role, Hank also pursued his Master of Divinity at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, graduating in 2015.

He was ordained on June 14, 2015, and installed as Minister of Beulaville Presbyterian Church on June 28, 2015.

Hank has a deep passion for evangelism, mission, Christian education, discipleship, peacemaking, and the study of God’s Word. His call to serve began in his teenage years through local church involvement and international missions. He has participated in numerous mission and evangelism trips around the world and is currently leading a peacemaking mission initiative to Serbia and Bosnia.

In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Hank is actively involved in the local community and serves on several mission-focused boards and steering teams. He works closely with East Duplin Christian Outreach, the Disaster Recovery Group of Duplin County, and the Eastern Europe Partnership Network.

Hank and his wife, Amelia, have been married for over 19 years. They are the proud parents of four children: daughters Zoe, Cassandra, and Esther, and son Henry.

Ryan Southerland

Choir Director

Ryan is a proud graduate of East Duplin High School and earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he focused on Choral Conducting and Music Education. After college, he began his teaching career in Wilmington, working with both middle and high school choirs in New Hanover County Schools.

He and his wife, Jessica, eventually returned to his hometown of Beulaville, where they now live with their two children, Devin and Jonah. Ryan currently serves as the Chorus Director at East Duplin High School and Band Director at Beulaville Elementary School.

He considers it a blessing to lead the Chancel Choir at Beulaville Presbyterian Church and warmly invites anyone who enjoys singing to join. If you have any questions about the choir or are interested in getting involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Tammie Blackburn

Church Pianist and Presbyterian Early Enrichment Program (PEEP) Director

A lifelong resident of Beulaville, Tammie brings over 30 years of experience in early childhood education, having retired in 2023 after teaching kindergarten in Duplin County Schools. She now serves as the Director of the Presbyterian Early Enrichment Program (PEEP), where she enjoys nurturing young children in a Christian preschool setting as they prepare for elementary school.

In addition to leading PEEP, she is also the pianist at Beulaville Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Michael, have two sons, Austin and Josh, and a daughter-in-law, Mallory. Her household also includes their beloved pets—Andy the dog and cats Floyd and Ellie.

Outside of church and school, she enjoys gardening, reading, playing the piano, woodworking, crafts of any kind and spending time with her family.

Taryn Whaley

I grew up in Beulaville and graduated from East Duplin High School before earning my bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. I have been a member of Beulaville Presbyterian Church for about ten years.  I enjoy staying active, spending time at the gym, and being with family and friends.
