Frequently Asked Questions about PEEP
1. What are the hours for PEEP?
- Four year olds attend Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 - 11:00
- Three year olds attend Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 - 11:00
- Two years olds attend EITHER Monday, Wednesday, OR Friday from 8:00 - 11:00
2. Are meals served at PEEP?
- No, however we do have a morning snack time
3. What is the cost of attending?
- 4 year olds - $160 per month
- 3 year olds - $135 per month
- 2 year olds - $105 per month
4. How many children are in the classes?
- 4 year olds - 24 max with 3 teachers
- 3 year olds - 12 max with 2 teachers
- 2 year olds - 7 max with 2 teachers
5. What is the yearly schedule like?
- We somewhat follow the Duplin County Schools calendar, though not entirely. Our year runs from the last week of August through the last week of May. Our school holidays follow Duplin County School holidays. We do not have teacher workdays except in rare circumstances.
6. Does my child have to be potty trained to attend PEEP?
- 2 year olds do not have to be potty trained
- It is recommended that 3 year olds and 4 year olds are potty trained, but we realize there can be special circumstances and we will work together on those.
7. How do I sign my child up?
- Open Registration is in the spring each year - keep our website checked for exact dates, but it is generally the first or second week of April

8. What are the qualifications of PEEP staff members?
- Our director is a retired early childhood education teacher, serving Duplin County Schools as a kindergarten teacher for 30 years. Other staff members have no less than 3 years of experience working with young children. Please see more about our staff members here (put in link to staff page here).
- All staff members receive CPR and First Aid training at least every other year.
9. What is the birthday cut-off date for attendance?
- Children must turn 2, 3, or 4 by August 31 of the year they plan to attend.
