To remember Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, our congregation meets on Thursday before Easter for a touching and solemn service in our church sanctuary. We hear scripture, take communion, and enjoy music from members of the East Duplin High Schools chorus. The service ends in silence and darkness as we await the resurrection.

In conjunction with the congregation at Wallace Presbyterian Church, we participate in a Good Friday service each year. The location of this service is in Wallace one year, in Beulaville the next. We enjoy the opportunity to hear Easter scripture, take communion, and enjoy music by the joined choirs.
Our church congregation worships in two separate services on Easter Sunday morning. We meet in the sanctuary at 11:00 as usual, but also have a less formal sunrise service in the church parking lot earlier. The time varies, as Easter Sunday and sunrise times also vary, but is set for the time of sunrise each year.

Each year, our congregation breaks away from our traditional service as we meet as Cabin Lake for breakfast provided by the Men of the Church and a less formal service under the shelter by the lake. This is a day of fun, fellowship, worship, and celebration of the beauty of God’s creation that surrounds us.

Our youth are a breath of fresh air and the future of our church, so each May, our youth takes over and leads the service as we celebrate our young people who are graduating from preschool, middle school, high school, and college. This is a wonderful day of celebration for our congregation with a luncheon to follow.
While we always welcome new and old members alike, each fall we set aside a special Sunday when many of our former members return to worship and fellowship with us. Homecoming Sunday is the 4th Sunday in October.

Each year, our choir director selects a new composer’s title and our choir works for months to prepare for our annual Christmas Cantata which we host for church members and our community each year on the first Sunday in December. The tree is lit, the candles and greenery are set out, and our choir tells the story of Christmas through music in a delightful performance that kicks off the Christmas season each year. The Presbyterian Women host a reception following the performance to celebrate the season and fellowship as a church.
